Project Description

ADue to the topographical layout of the facility, the finished goods warehouse is located much lower than the production halls. Through an opening in the gable end of the warehouse, non-standard wooden pallets of various dimensions are loaded onto a roller conveyor system using a front-loading forklift and then automatically conveyed to the vertical conveyor installed in the warehouse and and lowered to the warehouse floor level.

To decouple production and warehouse operations, the warehouse features a holding area where pallets to be stored can be temporarily stored until resources for putaway become available. A second level, which can be easily loaded by the vertical conveyor, was included in the design to allow for a potential retrofit.
