Our customers choose a customized package from our range of services to ensure the smooth maintenance of their elevators and conveyor systems.
Maintenance of Elevators and Conveyor Systems
Based on the risk assessment you are required to prepare, regular maintenance of your conveyor or elevator system is required in accordance with the Industrial Safety Regulation (BetrSichV).
The operator must independently determine an appropriate maintenance interval, taking into account factors such as traffic volume, type of use, environmental conditions, technical equipment, and the age of the equipment.
We perform our maintenance in accordance with DIN EN 13015 (the European standard for the maintenance of elevators and escalators) using our own specially trained technicians.
The maintenance appointment will be scheduled on a case-by-case basis, taking your business needs into account. Upon request, maintenance can also be performed on weekends, early in the morning, or late at night.
We would be happy to assist you with advice and support.
Safety Inspection of Freight Elevators Without Passengers
Under the Industrial Safety Regulation (BetrSichV), elevator operators are required to have their technical systems inspected regularly by a qualified expert.
Since 2003, elevator systems that are not intended for transporting people but rather for transporting goods, and that are operated by employees as part of their work activities, are NOT considered to require monitoring but are subject to inspection. These include freight elevators, small-load elevators, container elevators, underfloor elevators, and simplified freight elevators.
They are pieces of equipment, and it is the operator’s responsibility to conduct this inspection on their own or have it conducted on their behalf in accordance with § 14 of the BetrSichV, and to document it for the labor inspectorate or the employers’ liability insurance association.
Failure to inspect the equipment or conducting an unqualified inspection may, in the event of a workplace accident, result in criminal liability for the operator/owner under certain circumstances. As an add-on to our regular maintenance, we offer a corresponding inspection performed by our trained, qualified technicians. By submitting the inspection report we prepare, the operator fulfills the legal requirements for the use of the elevator system.
DGUV Inspection of Elevators and Conveyor Systems
With the entry into force of TRBS (Technical Rule for Operational Safety) 1201/4 in November 2009, the operator of the work equipment must provide and document proof of the system’s proper electrical condition. For elevators subject to mandatory inspections (typically those used to transport people), proof of the inspection performed is verified during the periodic inspection, and the absence of such proof is considered a defect. The DGUV V3 regulation issued by the German Social Accident Insurance Association serves as the basis for the inspection of electrical systems. In addition to the type and scope of the inspection, this regulation also specifies the inspection intervals. For stationary systems, this results in an inspection interval of 4 years.
The inspection is performed by our trained service staff, either as an add-on to maintenance when possible, or as a standalone inspection during the initial inspection. The inspection is conducted using state-of-the-art, certified measuring instruments in accordance with the measurement points specified in the inspection report to be prepared.
Defects identified during the inspection (deviations from the target value) can be corrected directly by our service staff, or appropriate corrective actions can be recommended to the operator.
As with a failed main inspection, the managing director of a company exposes himself to high personal liability risks and may even face criminal prosecution in the event of damage if the electrical equipment inspection was not performed.
