gb-foods GmbH, Schillingsfürst

Pallet conveyor system with shipping storage.

Customer Description

GB Foods, based in Lübeck, produces and distributes food products—particularly ready-to-eat meals, spices, and sauces—with a workforce of approximately 250 employees. With brands such as Erasco, Gallo, Liebig, and others, the company—which is part of the Spanish Agrolimen Group—supplies both retailers and major customers in the food industry with high-quality products.

Project Description

As part of a restructuring of plant transportation and finished-product loading, the project involved dismantling the existing handling equipment—which had limited storage capacity and an inconveniently located loading zone—and establishing a main transport route in the opposite direction to a newly constructed loading platform.

Some existing components for load securing and identification were partially modernized and integrated into the new concept “to reduce forklift travel and staff time.”

The longer transport route provides significantly more automated storage space for finished-goods pallets and simplifies ramp loading by truck drivers using double-deck forklifts. A frequently used warehouse entrance for forklifts is conveniently provided by a hinged section integrated into the conveyor line.
