Bottle Sorting

For the production of returnable crates with a high proportion of original bottles for select customers.

Principle of Operation

The customer crates containing third-party bottles and misplaced bottles, as well as third-party crates containing customer bottles, are fed into the module via an infeed roller conveyor (shown here on the left).

An employee takes a stack of crates (4–8 crates) and removes all customer bottles from non-customer crates and all non-customer bottles from customer crates, placing them in the designated crates, which are positioned above the operator on two levels and tilted toward him or her.

The crates containing only bottles, with many empty compartments, are now pushed forward and reach the other side of the system (on the right here). There, they are also collected in batches by employees, and the empty compartments are filled by type (with non-standard crates containing non-standard bottles) into the bottle storage racks, which are again arranged on two levels.

The crates in the bottle storage area are used solely as a neutral means of transport and, after being emptied, are conveyed via a roller conveyor located beneath the system to the infeed side, where they are ready to be restocked.
