STAMAG Stadlauer Malzfabrik GmbH in Vienna is part of the Kulmbach-based IREKS Group, a leading international manufacturer of baking ingredients and malts. Using high-quality ingredients, the Vienna facility produces over 400 products, including malts, dried natural sourdoughs, and baking ingredients for bread, pastries, and fine baked goods, which are used in bakeries, pastry shops, and restaurants, as well as in breweries.

Project Description

As part of the expansion of this long-established Viennese company, the new LTW high-bay warehouse (HRL) was constructed and commissioned, featuring three fully automated stacker cranes (RBG).

As part of this process, the existing connection between production and the existing, manually operated pallet warehouses was adapted, modernized, and expanded to include a connection to the new high-bay warehouse.

Pallets to be stored are inspected at the new I-Point, and the newly constructed outbound area prepares the pallets picked by the RBG for loading in the shipping area.

Technical Specifications

• 26 roller conveyors, chain conveyors, turntables, corner transfer units, lifters, transfer carts, and gravity conveyors with just under 90 pallet storage spaces
• Ø Throughput of over 100 pallets per hour
• Inspection station for checking the condition, shape, weight, and labeling of pallets
• Direct pallet delivery and removal from three stacker cranes
• Cantilevered telescopic roller conveyor for contactless crossing of two stacker crane aisles
• Fire protection consisting of 4 conveyor system end caps
